All Inclusive Resorts

The Riviera Maya is the coastline south of Cancun. It has beautiful beaches and a wide selection of all inclusive resorts. A highway runs along the Yucatan coastline from Cancun south through Playa del Carmen and to the Mayan ruins of Tulum. Along the highway, there are numerous entrances to all inclusive resorts.

Many of the large all inclusive resort companies have resorts along the Riviera Mayan coast. You will find all inclusive resorts such as the Allegro Playacar, the Barcello Maya resorts, Dreams Riviera Cancun, the Iberostar Grand Hotel Paraiso, the El Dorado resorts, three Secrets all inclusive resorts, and a few Iberostar resorts.

It is hard to determine which all inclusive resort is the best resort in the Riviera Maya area. We all are lookiing for different things from an all inclusive resort. There are benefits to the large chain resorts and I certainly enjoy the quiet tranquility of a smaller resort. Couples may want to seek out a smaller resort while families and larger groups will enjoy the choices and recreational options of the larger all inclusive resorts. Perhaps we can list some of our favorites (and the reasons) in the comments below.

As for the area outside of your all inclusive resort, you have a few options for day trips and excursions. Playa del Carmen provides a nice night out if your Riviera Maya all inclusive resort provides shuttle service. There is a pedestrian mall that runs the length of the beach filled with restaurants, bars, and hotels. The beach can be crowded during the day so enjoy the beach at your all inclusive resort and plan to spend the evening in Playa del Carmen. Cancun is a less desirable side trip. There is no town center and the resorts crowd the beaches with no type of boardwalk to stroll on. The ruins at Tulum are interesting, but I would rather learn about them and look at pictures online instead of spending a resort day driving to them.

You can't go wrong with an all inclusive resort vacation along the Riviera Maya in Mexico. The resorts are comfortable, the beaches are wonderful, and the water is the blue color you see in your dreams. Enjoy your Riviera Maya all inclusive resort vacation!
