If you are looking for an escape this summer, here are a few all inclusive resort summer deals to temp your travel bug:

If you are traveling with kids, Barcelo Resorts are offering summer deals through October 31st, 2011.  Kids under 12 stay and eat for free along with having access to the activity filled kids club.  Parents will also enjoy discounts up to 40% during the summer promotion.

The Oasis Resorts in Cancun, Mexico have summer rates starting at just $84 per person from July 1st through August 14th, 2011.  Kids under 12 stay and eat for free if staying with a paying adult.  Rates start from $84 at The Oasis Palm Beach; from $84 at the Oasis Cancun; and from $109 at the Grand Oasis Cancun.

If you know any active duty military personel who need a break at an all inclusive resort this summer, let them know that All Inclusive Outlet is giving a $50 discount on the lowest price available for all resorts they offer.

If you have a large family or some friends who will be traveling with you, consider taking advantage of the "suite deal" at Velas Resorts.  You will get a second suite at 50% off through October 31st, 2011.  Velas Resorts are also waiving their single parent fee for the entire summer.

There are many more examples of summer all inclusive deals.  Most resorts offer deals in the summer because they are desperate for business during the off season.  Don't be afraid to do some bargaining.  Find the perfect resort for you and then call or email them directly to see what type of rate you can get.  Let them know you are considering a stay at one of their competitors.  It can't hurt to try.

If you find other summer deals that the rest of us should know about, feel free to post them in the comment section.

It makes sense that resorts are offering good deals during the summer, but I still don't think I would go - even at half price - because I can sit in the warm sun here at home.

Also, wouldn't the all inclusive resorts be ghost towns?  That might be nice if you really want to get away for a very quiet vacation, but I think it would be boring to sit in a restaurant or bar with only a few other people there.  I would also think that some of the bars and restaurants would be closed for the summer which would limit options during the stay.

oh, and I remember a tip that I read on this site awhile back that said you have to remember that when you are reading reviews during the summer for a trip next fall or winter, you are hearing about the resort during the summer when it has far fewer people and far fewer staff compared to what it will be like when you are there.

The best idea is to look at reviews from the same time period last year.

I have never gone to an all inclusive resort during the summer months, but I have looked at a few resort web cameras.  The beach and pool areas were pretty empty.  That might be nice during the day, but I agree that it is more fun if people are at the resort having a good time in the evenings.
