Early Booking Discounts For All Inclusive Resorts

When planning an all inclusive resort vacation, make sure you take advantage of early booking discounts.

Simply start your research process earlier.

Many of the all inclusive resorts offer early booking discounts.

For example, the four Real Resorts offer a 30% discount if bookings are made before September 30th, a 20% discount before October 31st and 10% off if bookings are made before December 15th.

If you find some good early…

All Inclusive Resorts Vs. Renting A Vacation Home

It seems like I go through the same battle each year about this time.  I know I want to plan a vacation for the middle of winter, but I'm not sure what to do or where to go.

In the past few years, it has come down to the idea of renting a vacation home or staying at an all inclusive resort.

I see the benefit of trying more local bars and restaurants, but I fear what the cost will be for a week's worth of food and drink.

I tell myself I will…

Are You All Inclusive Or Not!

I just wasted my time on another site.  It was called all inclusive something or other.  I got all excited about a resort only to find out that it wasn't an all inclusive resort.  I hate when that happens!

The resort didn't even have a separate all inclusive package that could be purchased.

The real time waste was trying to figure out if it was all inclusive.  The resort home page listed a price, but not what was included.

I like All…

Pounds Gained Per All Inclusive Visit

Researches polled 2,000 Britons and found that people who traveled to the United States and the Caribbean gained the most weight.  The large portions and buffets were cited as the primarily reason.

I suppose when you combine lots of food with lots of alcohol with lots of lounging around, you will gain a few pounds.

There certainly are people who don't gain weight.  In the study, 60% of vacationers gained weight while on vacation, but that included numerous…

Cruise Meal & Bar Tabs Add Up

Did you see that some cruise lines are now charging for meals and room service?

The bar tab is bad enough wihtout adding some food costs to it.  I want to be able to relax on my vacation.  Not worry about where I am in temrs of my budget.

Luxury cruise ships are going more all inclusive while the more retail ships are starting to add more costs

Are there any horror stories about cruise ship bar tabs out there?

Sneaking into An All Inclusive Resort

I was laughing at a discussion in the forum about hooking up with someone staying in a different all inclusive resort.  I am beyond my hooking up days, but it made me wonder how many people sneak into all inclusive resorts.

I don't want to encourage sneaking in, but I imagine it happens quite a bit. Especially at resorts without wristbands.

I wonder if beach waitstaff knowingly serve non-guests on the beach in exchange for bigger tips?  I know it happens at…

Possible Tripadvisor Scandal?

In light of the recent allegations of fraudulent Tripadvisor reviews, I thought I would try to generate some thought around the subject. Recently it has been brought to light that there is a possibility that hotel executives have been bribing reviews to post good reviews for their organizations. Given TripAdvisor's…

In Defense Of All Inclusive Resorts

I was at a party recently where a group of my friends were trashing all inclusive resorts.  I wasn't a part of the conversation and I decided it wasn't worth jumping in (at the time) to defend all inclusive resorts.

Two of the guys had recently been to an all inclusive resort for a wedding.  They both said they preferred more adventurous travel so the all inclusive resort wasn't something they enjoyed.  I totally understand this and it makes perfect sense that they wouldn't…

Scammy Things At All Inclusive Resorts

I love going to all inclusive resorts, but it really gets me going when all inclusive resort companies try to take advantage of their customers.

A few examples from prior discussions on this site:

* Sandals always has a 65% off sale and the countdown clock on their site simply refreshes when it hits zero.  That is pretty scammy.

* Not sure if it is true, but I heard that there was no wine available in the French restaurant at a Now Resort (even…

Affordable All Inclusive Resorts

Travel & Leisure Magazine published a list of the best affordable all inclusive resorts.  However, the list reads more like a "best of" list instead of staying focused on affordable all inclusive resorts.  Numerous resorts on the list are on the expensive side.  Still, there were many nice options on their list so it is worth a look:

My Kids Live At An All Inclusive Resort

My kids live at an all inclusive resort.

I take care of them as a stay at home dad.  I am the main staff member at their resort.  I serve them three meals a day and numerous snacks.  They have an all you can drink plan with their sippy cups being filled as soon as they finish the previous one.  I provide numerous activities and day trips.

It reminds me how great childhood is.  We all dream of a few days or weeks per year when we can live like toddlers do. …
