Riu Palace Punta Cana Review:
A large all inclusive resort for singles, coules, and families with
children. Visitors get exchange privileges with the other Riu
resorts in the area. This greatly expands your restaurant, bar, and
entertainment options.
As with most Riu resorts, you will be disappointed if you expect a
five star resort. Otherwise, most travelers are happy with the
service, food, and presentation of the buildings and well manicured
grounds. The staff is wonderful, but you will find that they are
open to accepting and giving special favors for tips such as saving
pool chairs or finding reservations at the specialty
restaurants.
The resort is located on Bavaro Beach in Punta Cana so there is no
need to worry about the quality of the beach. It is fantastic.
As with other Riu resorts, the main downside to the specialty
restaurants is that you have to wake up early each morning and wait
in line to get a reservation for that evening.
The rooms are known for having poor ventilation. Make sure you keep
your ceiling fan on to keep the air moving. Also, take along some
candles to defeat any musty smell that may exist and also to add a
little romantic lighting.
This is a beach centric area with little nightlife or shopping
nearby. There is a casino within the resort, but it isn't very
impressive. Your best bet for evening entertainment is the music
and variety shows within the resort.
