Riu Merengue Review:
A large village style all inclusive resort for singles, couples,
and families with children. Like most Riu resorts, you will be
disappointed if you expect a five star luxury resort. Otherwise, it
is good value for the price.
Many people consider this resort the best of the three Riu resorts
in Puerto Plata. Visitors get exchange privileges with the other
Riu resorts in the area. This greatly expands the number of
restaurants, bars, and activities available. However, the other
resorts also have a steakhouse and an Italian restaurant so the
buffet is your best chance for variety.
The beach is good and the pool is the most popular of the three
resorts. Most of all, the staff is wonderful and worth the price of
admission.
