Couples Sans Souci Review:

A highly ranked and reviewed all inclusive resort for adult couples. Nice accommodations, good food, and a great staff who go out of their way to make sure you are enjoying your vacation.

A nice, but smaller beach compared to other resorts in the Caribbean with an au naturel (clothing optional) section. There is a sunken ship nearby for good snorkeling and scuba diving.

Try to get a room in the "A" or "B" block of rooms. These are centrally located near the beach and the restaurants.

One thing to be aware of is that this resort has a lot of stairs due to its location between the beach and a lush hillside. People who have difficulty with stairs will probably want to choose a different resort. Also, the property is a little dated and in need of a renovation, but overall still a great resort.

Please read this review “ Couples Sans Souci, was the worst vacation EVER!!.” My wife and I read all the “great” reviews about the food, staff, and 5 star quality of the couples resorts. We left after 3 days of being there, I paid $800 in flight fees and $200 for a car to drive us to the airport to get us back to the states ASAP, that’s how bad this place is. Let me tell you the story, so that you don’t make the same mistake we did. We arrived to this “All-inclusive” resort, “ya right” every staff member was begging for a tip from the first second we arrived while making comments two each other in code. I got offered drugs “I mean party supplies me brother” by two men in the first 10 minutes, while the bell boys where making comments about my wife’s body. I employee two Jamaican men in my warehouse so I could understand there slang, which I never let on to anyone at the resort. The resort was very outdated, smelly, and un keep in everyway when we checked into the lobby at 2pm. We requested a early check in, we were told our ocean view suite was being cleaned, and to wait at one of the resort premier restaurants. Three hours later after sitting in this run down, poor service, generic food, award winning restaurant I knew we were in trouble. We finally got checked into our “suite”, which had workers walking out with cans of paint. The suite was a dump with stained furniture, every inch had been repainted 100 times over, you couldn’t close doors because of the build up of old paint. The bathroom was so run down, and mold covered I took photo’s to show my friends back home. I tried to watch T.V. in the suite which of course locked up on me every 2 minutes, which was great for the super bowl the next night that I missed. It took the staff 3 days to get a T.V. that worked, after trying 9 times to fix the bad one. The whole resort was very run down, the beach was small, and no chairs or tables ever available after 9am on the beach or pool. Every male staff member on the beach tried hustling my wife and I while staring her up and down. Wanting to know if I “needed some supplies” or if we wanted to go to there place and “party” after work, like I would fall for that scam. I could walk down and even enjoy myself without being approached by a staff member to by something. Every time my wife called to book a table for dinner they were rued and said “full till 9pm”, we walked down to check and almost every table was open, we asked the lady to get a table and she put her hand in my wife’s face and said “you chill?” When we finally got a table the food was so bad, it upset our stomachs so much we went out the next night off site to eat and spent $160 on a average $35 dinner. During the next couple of nights someone keep trying to open the front door to the suite, when they felt it was locked they ran away. I paid a guy on the beach $20 to find out what was going on with this resort and how did it ever receive any awards. He told me a couple of years ago they sold out to new owners, and the new owners wanted a 50% pay cut to the staff. Most of the good staff left and the staff that stayed are all trying to hustle to make ends meet, thus not caring about customer service. I can’t even write the other things he told me goes on there on a daily basis. When my wife called to complain after hearing all this, they asked her “how you going to get back to the airport” in a rued tone, basically saying we where stuck there. I called a private driver at once, and had him load our luggage before talking to the manager. By that time word had spread and the manager was trying everything to keep us from leaving, knowing that we would write about our troubles. I told him what I’ve heard and all the scams that were going on, he said he was aware of these problems. He was the only person that tired to help or make us feel better, he knew what the place was a dump, it was to little to late. So our 7 day trip to Jamaica ended up being a 3 day nightmare
