Greece All-Inclusives; Greek Islands

OK, so I have this crazy/wonderful opportunity to travel abroad twice to countries I've never been to, and my employer will pay for airfare/hotel for me and a guest. There are too many places to choose from that appeal to me, so I'm begging for your input.

Greece is one country I really want to see during my lifetime. But there are a LOT of places to visit just within Greece and its thousands of islands. My family loves a good beach vacation and to be pampered. The well-known Club Med all-inclusive resort has four locations in Greece: the family-oriented Athenia Village south of Athens (we have a baby), on the island of Kos, at Gregolimano, and at Mare Nostrum. Have you been to one of these? Would you recommend it?

Do you have any recommendations for me? Please contribute to this conversation if so... I'll be researching Greece and other destinations in the mean time.

Thanks!

I found this hotel, which has an all-inclusive option: Silva Maris on the island of Crete -- http://www.maris.gr/silva/hotel-crete-all-inclusive-packages.aspx -- it sounds and looks pretty good, seems to have a family-friendly atmosphere, and offers a varity of food and activities. But what respectable hotel doesn't even offer free internet access? I mean, the Super 8 in Ely, MN has free wi-fi, so why should a beach resort in Crete with an all-inclusive option skimp out on this basic service?

I wish I worked for a company like yours!

Would you really do an all inclusive travel package in Greece? We are going to Mykonos soon, but I think we are going to try and dive into something more historic or at least more in line with the culture of the area... I think the all inclusive hotels are pretty modern, right? or am I totally off?
If you are going to do the all inclusive, make sure and check out the all inclusive travel packages from www.thetravelsteals.com They have some super cheap all inclusive travel vouchers as well.

I like the all-inclusive option because the basics are covered for us. However, I definitely want to be sure to get out and see as many historical sites as I can. Remaining within the confines of a large all-inclusive the entire time doesn't appeal to me. Thanks for the link - we'll take a peek.

TravelBob - Thanks for the link and the advice. I see cruise deals and all-inclusive deals via the link you provided, but are you aware of an all-inclusive cruise (combining the two) that you could recommend? Thanks again...

So now I'm thinking a cruise would be best for our family (we'll have a 1-year-old by the time we go, so we need something kid-friendly). Does anyone have any recommendations for a Grecian All-Inclusive Cruise? The Greek Islands are at the top of our list right now for our big trip next year. Thank you in advance!
